The only thing I've seen for sure is that WU will face Davidson on the road on Tuesday, December 4th
...and that Homecoming is scheduled for Saturday, November 17 (opponent TBD)...

Dec 22 @ SIU.
Is it just me or does it always seem like Winthrop's schedule, relative to other schools, comes out late?

Yes, lately that seems to be the case... I'm aware of 7 non-conference games now: Nov 6 - @ Vandy Nov 10 - @ SIU-Edwardsville Nov 17 - East Tennessee St (Homecoming) Nov 21 - @ Kentucky Dec 4 - @ Davidson Dec 22 - @ Southern Illinois Jan 1 - @ Florida State So that still leaves 6-8 more non-conference games that WU can have on the schedule.... Also, the Big South released the conference slate earlier this week. The Herald of Rock Hill filled in the blanks 9/19, here is the non-conference schedule as of now:
11/6 at Vandy; 11/10 at SIU Edwardsville; 11/13 Pfeiffer; 11/17 ETSU; 11/21 at UK; 11/24 Central Penn; 11/28 at Tennessee Tech.
12/4 at Davidson; 12/16 Hiwasee; 12/20 MD Eastern Shore; 12/22 at SIU; 12/29 Prairie View A&M.
