Great win vs Radford, but that's old news now after last nights kick in the nads.
I'm no basketball mastermind, and Pember is going to get at least 20 a game in the Big South, but why didn't we have Timmerman's big body trying to bully him, or at least make his life more difficult?
On to GW, let's not let one bad loss (in my opinion) turn into 2.

We just dropped two straight games, I believe we should have won. Hopefully we can get back on track this week and put this week behind us.

OK, bad couple of games; stuff happens. Time to get well against Chucky South before 1st place High Point comes to town on Saturday. I'm pretty sure that with 2 straight losses the guys won't be looking past CSU, anticipating HPU. Let's hope.

Easy win against CSU, but that's OK, we needed an easy win. Nice to see KJ go off.
Mildly surprised that WU is not pushing this game publicly vs 1st place High Point on Saturday. Anyway, fans or no fans, if we're going to contend for top spot in the tournament we need this win.

That was a most needed victory after last weeks losses. Hopefully we take out High Point we can't afford too many more conference L's.

If I were a psychologist maybe I'd have a theory on why this team can't hold a 2nd half lead. Anyway as Yogi said "It's getting late early". We have to win out for a top seed in the BSC tournament and I just don't see that happening.
OK, second half of conference play starts now and our guys need to find another gear.

We have to have the best 1st half team and the worst 2nd half team in conference. Hopefully we can figure things out before the big south tourny.

Wow, coulda-woulda-shoulda. This team is hard to figure out; conference record is 5-4, could be 9-0, or could easily be 3-6 (OT wins vs Upstate and Radford may have gone the other way). Now we're in a must win this Wednesday night vs suddenly hot Chucky South.
It's looking like the best we can hope for is for a light switch to get flipped and all of a sudden this team plays the way we think they're capable of playing come tournament time. Not giving up; Go Eagles!

2 road games against teams that have greatly underachieved this season. Please, please, please don't let them turn their seasons around against us. How about we contribute to their misery?
As if Radford wouldn't have been tough already, the game vs RU has been moved to national TV Thursday night.
C'mon guys, time to cement our place near the top of the league or drop down with the dregs. I prefer the former. Go Eagles!

High Point lost at home to last place Upstate. At this point it won't help us in the standings but it does show that HPU can be defeated at home. HPU lead by 20 in the first half then lost in OT. Sounds like some other Big South team that I follow (WU). Asheville on the other hand trailed by 20+ in the first half at home and came back to beat PC.
Sure would be nice to beat Radford tonight but I'm not optimistic. If we can beat the teams below us in the standings the remainder of the season we should be able to hold our position in 4th, but who knows?

Locked in 3rd or 4th in standings going into tournament. 4th puts us in High Point bracket, 3rd UNCA bracket. Pick your poison.
Bill Parcells said "You are what your record says you are." I think that applies to our guys, 8-6 in conference, slightly better than average. But average teams can get hot, good teams can stumble and lose to previously bad teams, and March Madness can happen.
Winning this Wednesday night would be a big boost but winning next Saturday is crucial to have at least a bit of momentum going into the tournament. Go Eagles!

I've never believed in moral victories but I'd have to say that's what last night was. With just a few more made free throws and\or a few less errors that game was ours. I'm hoping we get another shot at HPU next Saturday in the tournament because they are beatable.
First things first, need to take care of Gardner-Webb this Saturday and get some momentum heading into the tournament. Go Eagles!
GW on tv tonight hosting Longwood. I don't know all the tie-breakers in the BSC but I'm thinking even if GW loses tonight and loses to Winthrop Saturday they are still in 3rd and we're 4th. I guess we'll know around 4pm Saturday.
Edit: checked the tie-breakers, we're locked into 4th even if GW loses tonight and Saturday to Winthrop. Because GW beat Asheville twice, GW gets 3rd, we're 4th. Based on this, I bought my Friday tickets for HPU vs 8/9 winner, and #4 Winthrop vs #5 TBD.
