Some random thoughts: No real surprises so far; the guys were expected to be good; they are real good. Came back to earth a little bit with free-throw percentage against USCU. I noticed Upstate allowed some fans in the house last weekend while Winthrop will not (so far). Even if WU allowed fans now I don't think the Furman game would be very well attended due to the Clemson/ND ACC Championship being played at the same time this Saturday. As impressive as the wins against UNCG and UALR were I can't help but wonder how we would have fared against Louisville or Seton Hall had we been able to play one of the "big boys". What's up with Burns? He is unstoppable, except for conditioning, fouls, or something. Maybe I'm looking at glass half full, meaning there's so much bench strength that Burns sits to give others their minutes.
Bummer, Furman loses to Alabama Tuesday night. Maybe Furman looking ahead? (ha ha). UA dominated the boards, took an early punch in the mouth (down 16) then out-athleted Furman down the stretch.

We have looked good in our 4-0 start. I do think Burns needs to get in little better shape, but I don't think it hurts us bc of the bench depth. I hope for the rest of the season we keep up with the hockey type lineup changes throughout the game. I think it will make it hard for other big south teams to keep up since they don't have the depth.

Agree that Burns looks more out of shape than ever, but he also shoots 90% when he's in there so I guess we can't complain too much.
My biggest concerns right now are not getting enough OOC opponents to get a good resume for a seed or just getting a random upset if someone shoots 75% beyond the arc against us in the Big South Tourney. I think it's a foregone conclusion we are going to win the conference regular season and I can't see us losing more than 1-2 games during it unless Chan gets hurt. Speaking of, the guy is playing like the best all around point guard in the country right now.
We really just need Chan and Burns to stay healthy and then we have 30 other wings/guards/forwards who are as good as/better than the rest of the Big South. The depth is incredible.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting your 2020-21 SoCon regular season champions, the Winthrop Eagles! Guys played lights out in the first half. Just destroyed them. The depth really makes a difference when you can get a couple of their main guys in foul trouble and they don’t have adequate replacements and don’t have the same worry about replacing your starters. Cant say enough about Jamal King right now. Guy is a tank and battles much bigger than his height in the paint and is also knocking down every open three he gets. He would be playing 30+ minutes for anyone else in the league. Just such a deep team with any one of 12 guys able to step up and make big contributions at any point.

Up to #2 in mid-major poll. That's our limit, Gonzaga is #1.
