This team is something else... awful really. They don't have what it takes this year, and I'm giving up hope until I'm proven otherwise.
I don't even know how to put into words that we just lost to a horrible Coastal team. We've lost to Tennessee Tech. I mean, what in Gods name is going on?
On top of that, Kelsey has to be one of, if not THE WORST, late game situation coaches I have ever seen in my life.
How do we beat St Mary's, play well with Duke, and ETSU, but LOSE this? We were commanding the entire game and then couldn't figure out how to play God damn defense on the perimeter. This team sh*ts the bed constantly and it's incredibly tiring to watch. Defensively, we made no perimeter adjustments, and just let them keep getting looks.
Kelsey wonders why NO ONE fills the coliseum? It's because of horrific losses like this, unexciting basketball, and inconsistency.
Free throws - GOD AWFUL.

That's pretty dramatic and funny.
I think this team is the clear favorite to win the Big South---lots of size that will be tough for anyone to match. Free throw shooting is going to cost us a couple games, but I still think we will shoot better than we've shown. Ferg is shooting 40% from the line so far, he's a career 70% shooter for the last 3 seasons, that will work itself out.
We missed having Russ for this game, he's been an important cog and their little guards wouldn't have been able to do what they did if he was available. They also banked in a couple threes and hit some long threes that we want teams taking.
It was a perfect storm for an upset---tough 3's going in, missing a key player, and bad free throw shooting.
Not fun, but this team is good, and going to win a lot of games. Let's not be dramatic.

Sure, maybe a bit, but this has been frustrating to watch.
We have been in close games all season, and lack the ability to close them out. This has been consistently true in the Kelsey era as well. We could just as easily be 7-2, but we're not. Maybe it's lack of experience on the floor? I don't know.
The free throw shooting isn't just bad, it's consistently bad. Bad enough to leave us at/near the bottom of (348th out of 353 teams) division I percentage. I would have to think it will get better too, but we're still struggling currently.
We still only have 2 wins against Division I opponents, albeit we have had a tough slate of games.
I'm always a bit dramatic, so take it with a grain of salt. I've said that before on here.
