Lots of new names/numbers to learn. Up by 6 at half; barring a complete meltdown this should be a win.

Win by 10 but a close call. Hopefully just early season jitters. I'm thinking that Fresno State and SMC next week will be much more difficult. Oh well, a win is a win.

I hope we can chalk most of the offensive lulls up to "freshman mistakes" and inexperience. Defense broke down a few times as well, but just happy to get a win on game 1.
We need a little confidence going into this west coast trip.
I will say that there are a few important things I'm waiting to see:
1. Russell Jones went 0 for 8 fg.... I'd imagine this probably won't happen again, so if he's scoring some, it opens the floor better. He also has to learn how to shoot amongst the D1 trees etc, so that takes time.
2. Chandler Vaudrin - He did't touch the floor. Excited to see how he can help this offense/defense gel
3. DJ Burns had 8 points in 7 minutes of play... Um... if he learns to stay out of foul trouble and keep cool, he could be a force.
On a side note, Corbin and King looked a bit nervous on the floor. I'd like to see them settle in, not force shots.
Onward to Fresno State and Saint Mary's
