I wasn't able to watch this game but looking at the box score we took care of business like we shouldve. Does anyone know why Pickett didn't play?

Games like this are worthless.
Winthrop only has ONE win against a Division 1 opponent right now, and that's SIUE. SIUE is 0-3, and a bottom feeder in their conference.
Next D1 opponent for us? Tennessee Tech. I mean come on... they just lost to Michigan state 33-101. So going into December our two D1 wins are coming from SIUE and Tenn Tech. Pretty awful if you ask me!

I agree games like this are worthless....but I don't understand the our only win is awful? The games we've lost are all to good to really good teams....Vandy/UK are very good, and ETSU is on a 4 game winning streak with their only losses to Creighton/Georgia St by single digits who are very quality teams.
Unfortunately our non conf schedule is filled with either good to great opponents or bad to very bad ones. So it's hard to get a read about how good we are until conference season starts. The only game you can really look at is ETSU thus far.....who is probably better than anyone in the Big South this year, and we should have won that if we wouldn't have had some lane violations and other boneheaded mistakes. Probably Davidson and So. Illinois are the only other decent barometers, very good but not great teams, but with those on the road I won't be surprised if we lose those and a win would be quality.
Tenn Tech is bad, but they just knocked off L-Monroe at home, so we better be ready to play and not snooze through it.

Just for reference, so far this year, our strength of schedule is 48th in the nation----it's been really tough so far.
Most of the Big South has played easy non conf schedules so far except for Presby. (who has been impressive)
