OK, now stuff gets real. Swept HPU 2 weeks ago, but that's no reason to overlook them in anticipation of a UNCA rematch Thursday. I hope Kelsey has the guys focused. I hope the fans in attendance can make some noise and provide some semblance of a big game atmosphere. Go Eagles!

That was beautiful basketball! It was great to be back in the coliseum, these guys are so much fun to watch. Chan was a savant out there..... Russ too. Zunic had one of his best games as an Eagle. Charles was super solid in the 1st half. DJ made an impact too. . Chase and Mike are such good defenders. Telford looked like he hurt his ankle, hope he’s good to go for Thursday. Go Eagles!

Doesn't get much better than this. Smothering defense frustrated HPU forcing numerous bad shots. Multiple double digit scorers. Burns a quiet 12, usually passed the ball back out when he was double or triple teamed. Outstanding all-around effort.
An observation, not a criticism, the 2nd half of the game our guys were going out of the way to share the ball when a real good shot was available; several times an extra pass resulted in no shot at all. Really no big deal when you're up by 20+.
Who was the guy in black warm-up suit and crutches on bench? I thought maybe it was Toneari Lane, but then I saw that he was on the stat sheet.

Toneari Lane never played...looked like it was a stat data entry error. I have heard he recently had surgery, so that was likely him with the crutches. |
